A design that got simpler
The enquiry opened in mid-March with the destination stated plainly:
"softball team for our World Series."
The artwork went through C1, then C2. Most proof cycles add things — a year, a player number, a tournament name. This one moved the other way. The last instruction before approval was:
"Last edit, they want to see without the softball at all."

Why that is the right instinct
At 2.25 inches a pin is bigger than standard but it is still smaller than a matchbox, and it gets looked at from arm's length in a crowd. Every element competes with every other element. Taking the most obvious one out is often what makes the rest readable.

Quantity and size move it most: the break runs about $0.20 per pin for every hundred pins, and the range here goes from a 1,500-pin corporate run at 1.25 inch to a 3 inch dangler with glitter.
