Rules Of Trading Pins

Trading pins have become a popular phenomenon at different types of events and locations.

There are rules to trading pins which beginners need to understand in order to get the most enjoyment out of this hobby.  First, you should never wear any pin that you do not intend to trade with someone else.

Next, after making a trade, you should put your newly acquired pin out of sight, as someone else may want it too. If you leave it out, they may try to make a trade with you for the pin. As a trader, you have the right to negotiate the trade, especially when someone wants a rare pin and is not offering a comparable trade.  You could ask for more than a single pin in exchange for your rare pin.

Playoff Events Are One Place You May Find Trading Pins

There are different types of trading pins that you can find, such as sports pins, event pins and school pins. For example, you may find pins available at playoff events where all of the teams will exchange pins with other players. Coaches, cheerleaders, umpires, and referees can also have their own types of pins that are different from the players. Whenever you are participating in such events, you will want to make sure you have plenty of pins available to trade to get the ones you want from others. Depending on how the event was organized, participants may receive a set of starter pins at the beginning of the event.
